Jayson Tatum Takes Shots At Miami Heat While Celebrating Championship

After defeating the Dallas Mavericks, 4-1 in the 2024 NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics have been celebrating their league-leading 18th title in franchise history. Since the Celtics returned home from taking a trip to Miami, former fan-favorite Boston player Brian Scalabrine asked Jayson Tatum about the celebratory vacation.

"You guys have been on a lot of hard-fought trips to Miami, was this one a little sweeter?" Scalabrine asked.

Tatum didn't hold back, "They're always easy."

Tatum was insinuating that they have had success when playing against the Miami Heat, but fans may want to fact-check this statement made by the Celtics star.

To point out in the past five postseasons, the Heat and Celtics have matched up four times vs. each other; with the Heat winning the Eastern Conference Finals both in 2020 and 2023; and the Celtics being victorious in 2022 and in the first round this season.

When looking at the all-time historical playoff record between both franchises, the Celtics and Heat are tied 21-21.

The Celtics now have the most championship rings in the NBA, and they seemingly have tried as hard as possible to make it personal with their rivals down in south Florida.

The Celtics took a trip to Miami right after winning the championship, and many were confused by this, speculating this could be because they wanted to rub it in to Heat fans.

In the Finals vs. the Mavs, Tatum averaged 22.2 points (38.8% FG; 26.3% 3PT), 7.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.0 steals.

Ever since winning his first ring, many fans made fun of Tatum for evidently "trying too hard" in his cringe-worthy celebratory moments.
