3-time All-Star reportedly being talked out of joining LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers

This is getting interesting.

Chicago Bulls' star forward Jimmy Butler is reportedly being told not to push for a trade that would send him to the Cleveland Cavaliers to team up with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, according to a report from Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times.

It was previously reported that Butler was down to just the Boston Celtics and Cavaliers as trade options, but with this latest report from Cowley, the Cavaliers may not even be an option after the bizarre fallout from general manager David Griffin leaving the organization.

The story gets more complicated, though, as Sam Amico, a plugged-in Cleveland reporter, is reporting that nobody on the Cavaliers are telling to Butler not to push for trade to Cleveland.

There are a number of reports out there right now, but the one consistent is that Butler is indeed on the trade block ahead of Thursday's NBA Draft. CSN Chicago NBA insider Vincent Goodwill reported on the Bulls' aggressive shopping of Butler this week, too, but mentioned that the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets were possibilities, with both clubs stocked with assets.

No matter what happens, it is certainly interesting to see the Butler Trade Drama finally start to pick up in a meaningful way, and, if he were to be moved to the Cavaliers or the Celtics, it would be a huge move that could drastically affect how the 2017-18 NBA season goes.
