Kevin Durant hints at future plans with Warriors

Is that some foreshadowing going on?

NBA free agency has ended for Kevin Durant and most of the other big name stars who were available. However, that doesn't mean they aren't looking forward to their next free agency period when their newest contract runs up. Some guys truly enjoy the process of having teams court them and taking meetings while others dread it and just want to get it over with.

It sounds like Durant might be the latter of those two kinds of free agents and he's already made a decision for when his two-year contract runs up or if he decides to opt out after this season —- his second year has a player option. And it looks like Warriors fans can expect a few championships because Durant isn't going anywhere.

It makes perfect sense to shut down any future talk about where he might sign next because it quiets people down and it makes financial sense since he will be able to sign a true max contract after this season —- he'll be a 10-year veteran which triggers a boost in a max contract offer.

It will essentially turn into what LeBron James has with the Cleveland Cavaliers now. He can keep opting out after year one of his contract to keep signing contracts to help the team sign other guys down the road by taking small discounts.
