Thompson Calls Heckler "Weirdo" While Signing Autographs

Footage from Sunday night shows Klay dropping in on some Mavericks fans on the street to sign autographs before he was berated by a heckler. The assailant, later identified as a delivery driver, was caught insulting the 4-time NBA Champion from across the street.

"I'm the only one that doesn't give a f***," the delivery driver yelled. "I don't even know who the f*** you are."

Thompson was unfazed by the taunts and quickly fired back at the man.

"But you over there watching, you bum," he shouted. "I don't know what you're talking about."

The crowd jeered him on as Klay repeatedly told the man to "go do [his] job" before ultimately calling him a "weirdo" and ceasing the interaction.

Kyrie Irving Praises Klay for His Leadership

Klay Thompson has made a solid contribution in his first year with the Dallas Mavericks. The 34-year-old is averaging 14.1 points on 41.6% shooting including 38.1% from beyond arc, an area where Dallas admittedly needed the improvement.

Beyond his impact on the stats, Thompson provides a championship pedigree and veteran understanding of the game that is much appreciated in his locker room. Mavs guard Kyrie Irving said as much on after their 105-99 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas Day.

"We know how special he is," Irving told reporters. "Especially not just shooting the basketball but just being a winner. Showing up to work every day and being consistent. Being able to be that kind of leader by example and just that poise.

The Mavericks remain at 4th place in the Western Conference standings even after their 110-100 defeat at the hands of the Sacramento Kings.
