The Lakers continue to reshape their roster following LeBron James' departure.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Los Angeles has agreed to sign forward Ziaire Williams to a one-year, $3 million contract.
Williams, 24, spent last season with the Nets, averaging 10.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 56 games. The 6-foot-9 wing is expected to provide depth, length and athleticism off the bench for coach JJ Redick.
The signing also reunites Williams with Lakers guard Bronny James. The two were teammates at Sierra Canyon High School in Southern California before taking separate paths to the NBA.
Williams entered the league as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He spent his first three seasons with the Grizzlies before joining Brooklyn in 2024.
The move is the latest in what has been an active offseason for Los Angeles.
The Lakers have already re-signed Austin Reaves while adding Walker Kessler, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Collin Sexton, Quentin Grimes and Kevon Looney as they continue building a new-look roster in the post-LeBron era.
Even after adding Williams, the Lakers reportedly remain in pursuit of free-agent forward Jonathan Kuminga. A sign-and-trade remains one possible avenue, though the Lakers would likely need to create additional roster space to make such a deal work.
It's another low-risk move for LA as the franchise continues searching for the right mix around Luka Doncic and its revamped core heading into the 2026-27 season.
