Certainly, LaVar was a superstar athlete in his own right, having brief stints with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers as a tight end in 1995.
In addition, he played basketball at West LA College, Washington State, and Cal State LA.
And now with the successes of his sons, Lonzo (2017 No. 2 overall pick) playing for the Bulls, LaMelo (2020 No. 3 overall pick) with the Hornets, and Gelo's music career taking off, it's apparent LaVar's elaborate plans for his Big Baller family has all come into fruition.
Notably, LaVar has taken a step back in recent years, and kept his audacious personality on the low, as he lets his sons shine in the spotlight.
That is, Lonzo has currently solidified himself as a reliable role player, signing a two-year/$20 million contract extension with the Bulls, which comes after a three-year absence due to undergoing multiple procedures for a 2022 knee injury.
Then, LaMelo has gone on to win NBA Rookie of the Year (2021) and became an All-Star (2022), while currently averaging a career-high 27.3 points, 7.2 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in his fifth year in the league.
Lastly, LiAngelo has taken the internet by storm with his newly released hit rap song "Tweaker," as he even performed during this past NBA All-Star weekend.
The fact that Lavar ball is still smiling after having his foot amputated is wild . People love to hate him but he’s done nothing but care about his sons and bring positivity to everyone https://t.co/8tryEvlo3Q
