After Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant passed former Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan on the all-time scorer's list Sunday evening, the current Charlotte Hornets owner released a statement to the Associated Press congratulating him.
"I congratulate Kobe on reaching this milestone. He's obviously a great player, with a strong work ethic and has an equally strong passion for the game of basketball. I've enjoyed watching his game evolve over the years, and I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.''
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James and Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to social media to support Bryant's accomplishment.
Bryant ended the night with 26 points in Los Angeles' 100-94 win over Minnesota.
