LeBron James Pranks Son Bronny Ahead of Lakers' Season Opener

Bronny James recently got another taste of life as an NBA rookie courtesy of his own father.

LeBron James had a little fun with his son and teammate ahead of their season opener by filling his car with cereal. James shared a video of the joke across social media on Tuesday hours before their matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"Hey rook, you better not be late," he said before driving off.

Bronny didn't allow the stunt to go without getting in his own digs by shouting, "you're too old for this," to the 39-year-old.

The duo is likely to make league history in the Lakers' opening game as the first father and son to touch an NBA court together.

The NBA's all-time leading scorer wasn't shy about his excitement surrounding the moment during a pregame shoot-around.

"Just to run out the tunnel knowing that he'll be in uniform, run out the tunnel with him, see him warm up, and be out there with the rest of my teammates," James said. "This is my 22nd time running out on opening night so I don't know how many times I'll have an opportunity, how many times I've got left to run out. I won't take it for granted."

LeBron and Bronny have played together before, briefly during the Lakers' preseason loss to the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 6.

For all the hype the rookie has received, his production so far has left more to be desired. Bronny shot 29.7% from the field in six preseason games. He offered an assessment of his performance so far while speaking to reporters last Tuesday.

"For me, just getting comfortable," he said. "Going out there and getting reps. I feel like that's the most important thing. Just for me to grow my confidence and be more comfortable when I'm out there playing. I feel good. The numbers could be better. I just got to get my confidence up."
