LeBron James Says Bronny Can't Call Him 'Dad' On The Court

After Bronny James was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 Draft, he and his dad LeBron James have now become the first father-son duo ever in NBA history.

That is to say, there's much anticipation regarding seeing James Sr. and James Jr. on the court as teammates. With this in mind, many have been wondering what Bronny will call LeBron on the court.

Ultimately, the oldest player in the NBA addressed this in an episode of "The Shop" on Uninterrupted.

"No, he can't [call me dad]... Cannot call me 'dad' in the workplace. Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I can be 'dad' again."

LeBron continued, "In the car, if we ride together, at home, I could be 'dad.' No, he gotta call me like, '2-3' or 'Bron.'"

19-year-old Bronny will have to try his best to avoid a slip up, as LeBron seemed pretty serious about this.

"We cannot be running down the court and he'd be like, 'Dad, I'm open! Dad, come on!' No you cannot do that."

To point out, there is much hype surrounding the rookie, as Bronny also has already signed a 4-year, $7.8 million dollar contract, despite being only a late-second round pick.

All in all, Bronny is looking to silence the doubters, as he sets out to make his own mark, while following in his father's footsteps. To note, James Jr. played in four games during the Las Vegas NBA Summer League, averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and one assist.

In view of LeBron entering into his 22nd season in the NBA, the world's all-time leading scorer will look to continue to try and defy 'Father Time,' as he is coming off of winning a gold medal and MVP at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
