Considering the Lakers were also willing to give up their 10x All-Star AD, who they traded for in the 2020 season, this certainly will go down as one of the most shocking trades of all time.

Evidently, everyone involved was caught off guard, as ESPN's Shams Charania reported that "Anthony Davis had no idea this was coming," and "Luka Doncic was stunned about this trade."

NBA insider Dave McMenamin reported that LeBron James was out to eat with his family when he discovered that his partner-in-crime AD had to pack his bags and move to Dallas..

Even more, to emphasize how much in the shadows this trade was, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd even apparently didn't know his best player got traded until after it was agreed upon.
