Upon his arrival to Los Angeles, Luka has received much admiration from Lakers fans.

And now, the Serbian-born basketball phenom is expressing his generosity to the city by giving back. In the wake of the tragic LA wildfires, Luka will be donating $500,000 to help support the recovery efforts.

The 25-year-old made the announcement (via his Luka Doncic Foundation) on Instagram, saying that he is "here to help, now and for the long haul."

"It's been so sad to see and learn more about the damage from the wildfires since I landed in LA," Doncic said in the statement. "I can't believe it and feel for all the kids who lost their homes, schools and places where they used to play with their friends.

"Today, my foundation is donating $500,000 to immediate recovery efforts. I am also committed to helping rebuild courts, playgrounds and fields that were destroyed because every kid needs a safe place to play."

Doncic signed it by saying, "your new neighbor."

Luka is set to make his highly anticipated debut for the Lakers vs. the Utah Jazz Monday night (10:30 pm ET) at Crypto.com Arena.
