Los Angeles Lakers player Luka Doncic has received a significant update in the ongoing legal situation involving his family.

Doncic, who is no longer engaged to Anamaria Goltes, has been involved in a custody battle over their two children. However, Goltes has requested to drop her court case for child support without prejudice.
The two share 2-year-old Gabriela and 7-month-old Olivia. Although both children reside in Slovenia with Goltes.
"I am withdrawing my Petition for Child Support with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children," Goltes said in the court documents, per TMZ.
One interesting note that TMZ mentioned is that the Court has actually dismissed the request at the moment. Apparently, the request missed Doncic's signature.
The custody battle has been ongoing ever since Doncic and Goltes broke off their engagement in March. Doncic and his attorney alleged that they tried to convince Goltes to move to California. She allegedly refused and has remained in Slovenia since May.
The family matters played a role in major decisions by the Lakers player. He first missed games against the Raptors and Celtics to travel to Slovenia to be present for Olivia's birth.
He also had an opportunity to join the Slovenian National Team during the offseason. He declined the opportunity to focus on the family.
"I love my daughters more than anything, and they will always come first in my life," Doncic wrote on Instagram in mid-May. "As I continue working toward joint custody of my daughters, I have been forced to make a difficult decision between traveling and playing for the Slovenian national team and being with my daughters this summer.
"Unfortunately, it has been made extremely difficult for me to see them over the past eight months. I have given everything to representing Slovenia and I am disappointed that I will not be able to play for my country this summer. But right now, my daughters and my responsibilities as a father are my priority."
