As NBA veteran Malik Beasley faces a federal investigation tied to alleged gambling, new records show his financial troubles have extended all the way to the dentist's chair.

A Minnesota-based dentist won a $34,390 judgment against Beasley in January, according to court documents reviewed by The Detroit News. The dental office began garnishing Beasley's wages from the Detroit Pistons in February, joining a growing list of creditors pursuing the 28-year-old guard.
Beasley, who played in all 82 games for Detroit last season, is under investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York for possible gambling violations. He has not been charged, but sources say his free agency is effectively on hold as the case develops.
The dental judgment is one of several legal and financial issues surrounding the former first-round pick. A Milwaukee-area barbershop won a $26,827 ruling against Beasley this year, stemming from unpaid services during his stint with the Bucks. He has also been sued multiple times by the owners of a luxury apartment building in downtown Detroit, known as The Stott, over alleged nonpayment. One case was dismissed.
Beasley is also facing a $2.25 million lawsuit from New York-based Hazan Sports Management Group, which claims he failed to repay a marketing advance after signing with the agency in late 2023.
The veteran sharpshooter averaged 16.3 points and a career-best 41.6% from beyond the arc last season. Despite earning nearly $60 million in salary over his career, Beasley's finances — and now, his on-court integrity — are under a microscope.
He's one of three NBA players linked to federal probes into sports betting. Former Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter pleaded guilty last month to wire fraud after admitting he conspired with gamblers to rig his performance in games. Meanwhile, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is under investigation for suspicious betting activity in a 2023 game while with the Hornets. Like Beasley, Rozier has not been charged.
