Reportedly, Butler was upset after being informed the team was planning to have him come off the bench with Haywood Highsmith starting at small forward in his place.

Butler's teammate Kevin Love took to Instagram, posting a video referencing what had transpired at practice.

Love wrote a caption, "Jimmy immediately after hearing he wasn't in the starting lineup," while including the infamous clip of Denzel Washington from Training Day.

"You think you can do this to me!?... You muthaf***** will be playing basketball in Pelican Bay when I get finished with you."

Then following the news, Jimmy Butler himself posted a video from the comedy show "Martin."

This clip showed "jobless Tommy," which Butler is apparently correlating to his own circumstances.

To note, this is not the first time Heat President Pat Riley put his foot down, as Butler, who has been vocal about wanting to be traded, was also previously handed a seven-game suspension for "multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team."

The 35-year-old six-time All Star has appeared in 25 games this season (25 starts), and has averaged 17.0 points per game, which is his lowest mark since the 2013-2014 season.

As the February 6 trade deadline approaches, there is much anticipation mounting to see if and where Butler will be traded.
