Former NBA guard Delonte West has been arrested again in Virginia, and this time, police say the situation was genuinely scary.

Per TMZ, Fairfax County Police responded on Nov. 3 to a call about an unconscious male who was not breathing near the intersection of Fair Haven Avenue and Richmond Highway. When officers and EMS arrived on the scene, they confirmed it was West — and that he was breathing.
Police say they offered to take West to the hospital, but he refused. Officers added that he was so intoxicated that they arrested him for his own safety. He has since bonded out. It remains unclear if formal charges will follow.
This marks yet another difficult chapter in West's post-NBA life.
It was almost exactly one year ago that Fairfax County PD arrested West for trespassing. Authorities said he had returned to a location he'd already been banned from. He was also jailed in June 2024 for allegedly violating release conditions and resisting arrest. And there were several arrests before that as well.
West, who played eight NBA seasons and was once a starter on a Cleveland Cavaliers contender alongside LeBron James, has battled public struggles — and repeated run-ins with the law — since exiting the league.
For now, we wait to see if this latest arrest leads to additional legal trouble.
