The probable-cause affidavit claims the altercation occurred late on Nov. 14 after Beverley's sister left the house without permission to see her boyfriend, Aiden Hilderbrand, at a nearby park.

When she returned, her mother told her to call Hilderbrand to pick her up, and then contacted Beverley to come to the home.

According to the report, Beverley confronted his sister, grabbed her by the neck with both hands and lifted her off the ground. She told police she felt like she was losing oxygen for 20 to 30 seconds before he slammed her against walls while dragging her out of the bedroom.

She also alleges Beverley pinned her to a sofa and punched her in the left eye with a closed fist, later warning that "he will be the family relative to kill her," per the affidavit.

Officers said they observed marks on her neck and petechiae in her eyes consistent with strangulation.

Hilderbrand was told to leave the home during the confrontation, and police say he later called 911. Beverley was arrested and booked on a felony assault charge in Fort Bend County.

The longtime NBA veteran addressed the situation briefly on social media afterward, writing, "Please don't believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv."

Beverley, 36, last played in the league during the 2023-24 season.
