That is to say, the only way to go, being at near bottom of the standings, is up.

Undoubtedly, many fans are getting anxious considering that their best players are simply not playing due to injuries and load management.

George has played in exactly half of the 76ers games this season (8-of-16), and he has averaged 14.9 points on 38.3% shooting from the field.

Then former MVP Embiid has made appearances in just four games this year as he continues to miss time with "knee injury management." So far this season, the 30-year-old has averaged a career-low 19.8 points on 37.9% shooting.

With two star players struggling to get things going, this has had a direct impact on the 76ers production as a whole.

George, 34, is hoping to make a return to the lineup "within a week," as he injured the same knee (11/18 vs. the Miami Heat), that he hyperextended last month in the preseason.

George believes once they get more games under their belt the chemistry issues will improve, and they can get back to winning basketball.

To note, before the season started Philadelphia was actually eighth in the league for best odds (+1400) to win the 2024-25 NBA championship, however, those odds have now dropped to +4000.

In view of their next matchup vs. the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, November 27, both PG and Embiid will not suit up once again.

For the time being, Philly will have to rely on their backcourt duo, Tyrese Maxey (24.4 ppg) and rookie Jared McCain (16.6 ppg).
