The Boston Celtics are apparently holding out hope the Indiana Pacers hold off on trading Paul George just long enough for the team to make a serious run at Gordon Hayward or Blake Griffin, per Yahoo Sports.

As for a potential deal, the man who reported Boston's plans to first target Hayward, then George, Adam Kaufman added a layer to what the Celtics have reportedly discussed for George:
In order to have max cap space to sign Hayward and take on George, the Celtics would have to ravage their roster:
There certainly don't seem to be many competitive offers for George other than Boston's, but a good amount of things have to fall into place for it to work.
With free agency kicking off July 1, we should soon know.
