President Joe Biden Briefly Forgot Who Won The 2024 NBA Finals While Hosting Boston Celtics At The White House

The 2024 NBA champion Boston Celtics made a visit to the White House to present Joe Biden with a jersey. However, the U.S. commander-in-chief may have forgotten who they were.

Upon introducing the team, Biden said, "2024 NBA Champions, the Balls... you're the Celtics, right?"

However, this appeared to be a joke, as during the speech, Biden referenced that the Celtics have the most championships out of any team in the NBA.

"Not just any champion, but the winningest franchise in league history, now with a record 18 titles."

Biden then went on to say, "All of you may not know this, but my secret service code name is Celtic... cause I'm Irish. Everyone behind me is Irish in their heart. I feel a special pride in this trophy, from this old Irish Celtic to all you Celtics, congratulations."

At one point during the speech, Biden referenced former legendary coach Red Auerbach.

"As Red Auerbach used to say, the Celtics aren't just a basketball team, they're a way of life."

Biden also noted that head coach Joe Mazzulla was the youngest coach to win a title since the great Bill Russell.

It also seems the 46th President did his research, as he pointed out that the Celtics had the most points per possession out of any team in NBA history.

In view of this season, the Celtics have picked up where they left off, as they are 12-3 and are coming off of a 120-117 win vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were undefeated until facing the defending champs.
