Former Mavs player Chandler Parsons spoke on how the recent trade affected Luka (via Run It Back on FanDuel TV).

"I find it extremely disrespectful... I'm also not buying that [Jason] Kidd just didn't know... [Luka Doncic] just bought a $15M house, just closed like last week in Dallas... He cried when he found out."

According to reports, upon hearing the news he was being traded, Luka's family had to console him as he was rather emotional.

Luka thanked Mavs fans in a heartfelt letter he released, titled "Dear Dallas."

"Seven years ago, I came here as a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level. I thought I'd spend my career here and I wanted so badly to bring you a championship," Luka said.

Even Luka's dad spoke on the Mavericks letting his son go, as he was in disbelief the franchise could give up on him.

"With this trade, hypocrisy from the Mavs hurts me personally. I think Luka absolutely did not deserve this. I know he sacrificed a lot. I know Luka really respected Dallas."

Mavericks GM Nico Harrison is the one that offered Luka to the Lakers, as reportedly there was growing concern from the front office over Luka's "conditioning issues."

Upon Luka's exit from the city, fans have honored their franchise player, as he will certainly be well missed.

"The love and support you all have given me is more than I could have ever dreamed of. For a young kid from Slovenia coming to the U.S. for the first time, you made North Texas feel like home."
