Report: Trade offer for NBA All-Star has been made in hopes of pairing rising twin towers

This would be a "big" acquisition.

Not long after the Atlanta Hawks traded Kyle Korver to the Cleveland Cavaliers, rumors began circulating that All-Star forward Paul Millsap might also be on the move.

The New Orleans Pelicans have expressed interest in Millsap, and they hope to pair him with Anthony Davis to make one of the best frontcourts in the NBA.

The Pelicans will likely have to give up several picks and assets to make the trade work. Tyreke Evans would likely be included in the deal, and they'd have to hope the Hawks would be willing to take on a longer contract or two.

The Hawks are currently 20-16 on the year, which would be good for the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference. The Pelicans are 14-23, but only two games behind the Sacramento Kings for the 8-seed. New Orleans general manager Dell Demps has been under scrutiny for the team's lack of success in recent seasons, so he might be more likely to try for a big trade before the Feb. 23 deadline.
