According to ESPN, Justin's agents at WME Basketball said that the sophomore is committing to Ohio State. He will join the team that reached the NCAA Tournament but fell in the first round to TCU. He will help replace departing guard Devin Royal.
The California native has played for two teams in two seasons. He spent his freshman year with the University of Michigan. He appeared in 28 games while making 27.3% of his attempted shots from the floor.
Pippen's son then transferred to the University of California, Berkeley, for his sophomore season. He started all 32 games in which he appeared, and he led the team with 147 assists. He averaged 14.2 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game.
The Golden Bears went 9-9 in conference play and 22-12 overall. The team went to the National Invitation Tournament and ultimately lost to Saint Joseph's.
With Justin heading back East, he will return to a major rivalry. He has already played for the University of Michigan. Now, he will head to Ohio State University to see the other side as a junior. He will play a much larger role than when he suited up for the Wolverines.
Justin's older brother, Scotty Pippen Jr., is currently active in the NBA. He spent his college career at Vanberbilt and then entered the professional ranks as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. He spent six games with the team in 2022-2023 before heading to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Pippen's older son has spent two full seasons and one partial season with the Grizzlies. He has only appeared in 10 games this season due to an injury. He will miss the rest of the campaign after undergoing a sesamoidectomy due to ongoing discomfort in his right big toe.
