Things are going pretty well for the Golden State Warriors.
The team just won the NBA championship, Kevin Durant was named Finals MVP, but now they have to pay their superstars. The good news for Warriors' fans, though, is that the owner of the club, Joe Lacob, isn't shying away from paying his superstars.
"We're going to do whatever it takes to keep Steph here and happy," Lacob told Tim Kawakami of Bay Area News Group when asked if the Warriors will offer Curry the maximum $205 million over five years this summer. "And I know he wants to be here and we want him here. So, I do not anticipate any issues with him staying."
This five-year, $205 maximum contract extension would make Curry the highest-paid player in NBA history.
Curry, the NBA's first-ever unanimous MVP, looks like he'll also become the NBA's highest-paid player of all-time, an honor currently held by Memphis Grizzlies' star Mike Conley.
Nothing is official as of yet, but it certainly sounds like Curry is finally going to get paid by the Warriors and in historic fashion.
