Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia made a big announcement this week, which will make fans in attendance at Footprint Center very happy.

That is, the organization will be rolling out a new $2 menu this season, which will feature $2 hot dogs, $2 16 oz. water bottles, $2 16 oz. sodas, $2 bag of chips, and $2 bag of popcorn.
To note, this means some of the most popular snack items are now more than 70% off, as the Suns now have "the most affordable, fan-friendly menu in the NBA."
In a social media post, Ishbia made a statement:
"Winning starts with our fans," Ishbia said on X. "When I walk the concourse at games there aren't food options for families who don't want to spend a lot of money. That needs to change, so today we're rolling out our $2 value menu for all home Suns games."
He continued, "A family of 4 used to spend $98 on hot dogs/water/popcorn. Now they can enjoy that same meal for $24. Our fans and community are the foundation of what we do and we will continue to invest in making this the best organization in all of basketball, on and off the court."
Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer gave his opinion on the new $2 value menu.
"I think it's great. More value for the fans."
Mike Budenholzer wasn't aware of the new $2 value menu for some concessions at Suns games, but he was a fan: "I think it's great. More value for the fans. I might ask Mat [Ishbia] how come it's not $3 so that we can shoot more 3s, but in this case, 2s are good!” pic.twitter.com/znshv25HUT

And superstar Suns player Devin Booker echoed that sentiment, while giving props to his boss.
"Yeah, that's sick. That's special, man. Mat [Ishbia] is doing some incredible things."

I always hear about concession prices, so that's a big move by him that I found out with you guys" pic.twitter.com/HfdesIBJ22

Notably, back in 2022, the Suns organization switched owners from Robert Sarver to Mat Ishbia.
And the contrast between the ownership certainly has been a night-and-day difference, as Sarver was disciplined by the NBA for 'abusive behavior," while Ishbia is making changes that hopefully other owners across the league will follow suit.
Cannot express how awesome this is.
Mat, can you please encourage other owners to do the same?
Let sports be affordable again.
Let families go to games and not break the bank.

For those who don't know, Ishbia also offered free TV antennas, so fans in Phoenix could watch Suns games.

And if Ishbia wasn't already cool, he was also a baller back in the day, winning the 2000 NCAA national championship, as a walk-on player for Michigan State.
