Tons of NBA fans were wondering if Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley was worth the $153 million contract he just got this season. Well, in short, he was. He was shooting a career-high 46.7 percent from three-point land and is scoring 19.2 points a game, also a career-high. However, Conley won't be putting up any number for at least a month and a half according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The injury may not be as bad it sounds though as he will be re-evaluated relatively soon:
Conley expected to miss 6 weeks with fractures in lower back. Will be reevaluated in a month. Conley suffered injury in Mon loss to Hornets.

My understanding is Conley's injury is similar to Dallas QB Tony Romo's. No surgery required but rest and recovery needed to heal fractures.

For those that care, Conley's transverse process fracture is the same injury Cam Newton suffered when he rolled his truck. Not serious.

That's pretty scary for the Grizzlies who are 11-7 and only boast one other point guard on the roster in Wade Baldwin. If the Grizz can survive without Conley at all during this stretch then they may have real shot at the playoffs when he comes back and is ready to contribute.
