The 26-year-old Indiana Pacers guard has dealt with face shingles, which have affected his appearance and led to comments from social media users. He has undergone treatment to address the issue, which included a Botox shot.

"I've lost part of my eyebrow. My eye is always swollen from itching it," Haliburton said, per The Athletic. "I have good days and bad days, but for the most part, it's bad days. So, it has not been any fun.

"I'm still honestly dealing with it. I've been taking unbelievable amounts of medication to try to get rid of it. It hasn't worked.

"(The medication has) obviously caused me to gain weight and look a little bigger. That's been a topic of conversation through social media and stuff, but what can you do?"

Haliburton continued and said that he has dealt with nerve pain for about two months. He hopes this goes away, but he doesn't know when or if it will happen.

A first-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Haliburton started his career with the Sacramento Kings, but he headed to the Indiana Pacers during the 2021-2022 season.

The Wisconsin native has been an integral part of the team while earning All-Star honors two times. Last season, in particular, he helped lead the Pacers to the NBA Finals.

However, he tore his Achilles during Game 7 as the Pacers lost to the Thunder. This sidelined him for the entire 2025-2026 season as the Pacers went a franchise-worst 19-63.

And while he had plans to return for workouts this season, the shingles treatment disrupted his rehab timeline. He had to focus on the ailment instead of fully putting efforts into working his way back from the injury.

The Pacers' season is over, and Haliburton continues to focus on both health situations. This process will continue throughout the offseason as he aims to get back into the lineup in 2026-2027.
