Updates out of Golden State show serious concerns for Kevin Durant

This could be a serious blow.

Kevin Durant injured his knee Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards and there's apparently real concern the star forward could miss the rest of the regular season and more.

From Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski:

"Durant underwent an MRI late Tuesday night to survey the knee damage, and team officials and members of Durant's inner circle were expressing fear early Wednesday morning that the severity of Durant's injury could preclude a return to the Warriors lineup before the start of the Western Conference playoffs in six weeks, league sources told The Vertical.

Some close to Durant feared the damage could sideline him even longer, league sources said."

That falls in line with what the Warriors are doing on the surface as well, waiving guard Jose Calderon immediately and inking Matt Barnes to a deal immediately.

If Golden State didn't think Durant would miss significant time, this likely wouldn't be going down the way it is.

It's a serious blow to the contending Warriors, but on the stacked super team they are, no one will be counting out Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson come playoff time with or without Durant.
