Warriors Star Steph Curry Under Fire After 'Washed' Performance Against LeBron James, Lakers

Once again, after a strong start to the season, the Golden State Warriors have appeared to fall off the wagon. After a 118-108 loss to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors are currently out of the postseason picture. They are 22-23 and 11th place in the Western Conference standings.

Fans Rip Steph Curry After Latest Performance

The Warriors were able to hang tough with the Lakers throughout most of the contest. But in the end performances from LeBron James and Anthony Davis helped the Lakers pull away.

Stephen Curry's performance was a metaphor for how their season has gone up and down. After a 13-point first half, the Lakers held Golden State scoreless in the second half, when they really could have used his offensive input.

Following an abysmal second half from Curry, fans on social media were quick to call him out.

"Steph is starting to lose a step..he seems to be having more and more bad games...I mean he had a game where he didn't make a shot this year," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Washed up," another user added.

Kevin Durant, Warriors Discussed 2022 Reunion

During his time with the Brooklyn Nets, former Golden State Warriors star, Kevin Durant requested a trade from the franchise. After a standoff that lasted nearly the entire 2022 free agency period, Durant rescinded his trade request as he and the Nets agreed to move forward with their partnership. But During the trade talks, reporter Marcus Thompson II of "The Athletic" said that KD and his former teammates in Golden State had preliminary discussions about getting the band back together.

"The Warriors superstars [were] in conversations with Durant. In addition to catching up, the Hall of Fame-bound peers did entertain the idea of a reunion," Thompson writes.

"It was mostly about the stunning nature of it even being possible. The idea of them playing together again had seemed impossible when Durant left in free agency in 2019. It isn't lost on them how life has contrived an opportunity for them to come full circle. They see it, like everyone else, and talk about it, like everyone else."

After the Nets and Kyrie Irving's partnership soured, he requested a trade and was sent to the Dallas Mavericks in February 2023. Shortly after Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns per his request.
