The San Antonio Spurs' 20-year-old rookie and generational talent Victor Wembanyama made waves on social media Monday for having a bedtime routine that seems more suited for a budding child than a budding NBA superstar.

According to a report from Mike Monroe of The Athletic, Wembanyama has advised members of the San Antonio Spurs staff to not contact him after 9:30 p.m., because that's when he reads for an hour and then goes to sleep.

As you can imagine, social media had a field day with Wemby's bedtime routine. Some of the best responses to the report were when one X user replied with, "Bro reading these" and a picture of a "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book.

Another account got a lot of love for replying, "okay what are we supposed to do with this information" in response to Wemby's random bedtime report.
The biggest question that fans seem to have is how Wemby's bedtime routine seemingly gets disturbed more nights than not anyway, considering that the vast majority of Spurs games start at either 7 or 8:30 p.m. local time — meaning that Wembanyama would still be on the court when his bedtime routine is meant to commence.
While pressing questions like these have yet to be answered, we've got to respect the record-setting rookie for committing to a productive, screen-free bedtime routine when his hectic basketball schedule allows it.
Wembanyama's routine was thrown out of whack even worse Monday night because the Spurs had to travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers. Considering that the game ended at around 8:30 p.m. San Antonio time, then the Spurs had to shower and likely get on a plane back to San Antonio in preparation for their home game Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, one has to wonder how Wemby was able to adjust to this adversity.
Not that the Spurs rookie looked tired on the court, as he tallied 33 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in just 28 minutes in the 133-123 loss. However, if the 70 points that 76ers center Joel Embiid scored is any indication, perhaps Wemby was a little bit lethargic on the defensive end of the floor.
With what seems like a historic NBA career just getting started, maybe Wembanyama's strict bedtime routine will change as he gets older — especially once he turns 21.
