That is to say, after suffering the knee injury during Sunday night's loss vs. the Bills, on Wednesday the 28-year-old posted a message to Instagram, vowing to "come back better" in 2025.

"This wasn't my year," CMC said after being placed on IR again. "And sometimes when it rains, it pours. You can feel sorry for yourself and listen to the birds, or you can hold the line. I'm grateful for the support of everyone in my corner and promise I'll work smarter and harder than ever to come back better from this."

The Madden 25 cover athlete was the consensus No. 1 overall fantasy football draft pick in most leagues, yet McCaffrey only appeared in four games this season.

The three-time Pro Bowler carried the ball 50 times for 202 yards and had 15 catches for 146 yards, but he failed to reach the end zone for the first time in his eight-year career.
