49ers Deebo Samuel Exits Cleveland Game with Shoulder Injury

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is out for the remainder of the game against the Cleveland Browns with a shoulder injury.

Samuel left the game in the first half with an apparent shoulder injury and headed to the locker room. At the time, his return was deemed questionable, but he was ruled out in the second half after reappearing on the sidelines wearing street clothes.

Samuel did have two carries for 11 yards before leaving the game, but he did not record a reception in the contest. This season has been a little quieter for Samuel as he has only 20 catches for 302 yards and a touchdown on the season. This latest injury news won't help Samuel turn that around.

The injury news comes after Samuel and many of his 49ers teammates got into a pre-game scuffle with members of the Browns. Samuel was in the thick of it, pushing Browns players and jumping up and down.

The do-it-all wide receiver is a notable loss for the 49ers offense, but they still have an abundance of talent to work with, including running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and tight end George Kittle.

Expect to see more from wide receivers Jauan Jennings and Ray-Ray McCloud III with Samuel out of the lineup as well.

Life without Samuel is nothing new for the 5-0 49ers. The former All-Pro missed four games last season and nine games during the 2020 season. Losing a talent like Samuel would be tough to overcome for most teams, but between having an elite defense and plenty of other offensive playmakers, head coach Kyle Shanahan can still find plenty of ways to win.
