Colts' Daniel Jones has fractured fibula, plans to keep playing anyway

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is dealing with more than a simple bruise. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Jones has a fracture in his fibula and still intends to play through it, starting with Sunday's matchup against the Texans.

Jones first appeared on last week's injury report with a fibula issue, but the extent of the damage had not been made public until now. Despite the fracture, the Colts expect him to practice fully on Thursday after listing him as limited on Wednesday.

James Boyd of The Athletic noted that Jones did not take every rep during the portion of practice open to reporters and did not "look as fluid or fast as normal" as he moved through drills.

Jones said Wednesday he is not sure when the injury happened. He played the entire game in last week's 23-20 overtime loss, finishing 19-of-31 for 181 yards and two touchdowns.

The Colts' offense stalled late, failing to record a first down on its final four possessions.

Indianapolis is fighting to stay in the AFC playoff picture, and Jones appears determined to stay on the field despite the setback. How much the injury limits him moving forward remains a question the Colts will have to navigate in real time.

But one thing is for certain, he is the QB that gives them the best chance to win.
