A free agent quarterback from a winning team could overplay his hand and go begging if he's not careful

Is he playing his hand too strong?

Ryan Fitzpatrick hit the free agent market after a standout season with the New York Jets, where he threw for nearly 4,000 yards, 31 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

After turning down a deal reported for slightly more than the three-year, $21 million Chase Daniel took when he became a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Fitzpatrick could get stuck on the outside looking in.

Former top-three selection Robert Griffin III is reportedly meeting with the Jets Friday afternoon after he was released from the Washington Redskins.

After Mark Sanchez was traded to the Denver Broncos, a series of moves to other quarterback-needy teams could follow. Colin Kaepernick is another piece that could be moved, along with the likes of Sam Bradford and Brian Hoyer, according to Pat Kirwin. And those pieces don't include players like Carson Wentz, Jared Goff and Cardale Jones that will be in the upcoming NFL Draft.

In the coming weeks, that approximate $21-million deal might be looking quite tempting. That is if it's still on the table.
