While former LSU Leonard Fournette has solidified himself as the top running back in the upcoming draft class, there has been plenty of speculation about who will be the next back off the board.

In Todd McShay's latest mock draft—Mock Draft 3.0—he has former Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey as the second RB off the board. McShay has Fournette going No. 8 to the Carolina Panthers, and he has McCaffrey going No. 14 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
McShay said the difference between McCaffrey and Dalvin Cook could be character.
"McCaffrey has a ton of versatility: He can handle 10 or so carries per game, catch passes as a slot receiver and contribute in the return game," McShay wrote. "He had an exceptional week at the combine, showing off his straight-line speed and short-area quickness. McCaffrey's elite character could be the tiebreaker with Florida State RB Dalvin Cook for some teams."
McShay has Cook going No. 17 to the Washington Redskins and former Tennessee RB Alvin Kamara coming off the board at No. 27 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
McCaffrey impressed teams at the NFL Combine, and as McShay mentioned, his versatility could prompt a team to draft him early in the first round.
