The wide receiver quickly put the 2016 season behind him, but there are some undeniable truths. The Bears finished 3-13 after getting wrecked 38-10 Sunday by the Vikings (8-8). True, injuries wrecked the Bears, who lost quarterbacks Jay Cutler and his backup, Brian Hoyer; tight end Zach Miller, and wide receivers Eddie Royal and Kevin White. Some of the young players pressed into action —- especially running back Jordan Howard, who broke the Bears rookie rushing record —- proved to be keepers.

But the Bears have holes galore, and they're also facing a huge decision on the talented Jeffrey, the Pro Bowler who will become a free agent. The Bears slapped the franchise tag on him last year and could do so again, though it would cost them more than then $14 million he earned this season.
With no quarterback (few expect Cutler to return), the potential loss of Jeffrey, and an offense that never found itself this season, the Bear may have a hard time finding that fourth win next season, let alone a Super Bowl appearance.
