A quarterback who really hasn't done anything in the league is expecting MVP-type money

So much money.

Detroit Lions' quarterback Matthew Stafford has had an MVP-caliber season this year, and he is now expecting an MVP-level contract.

Stafford's contract expires in 2017, and he is reportedly seeking more than $25 million per year in his next deal. Stafford has thrown for 18 touchdowns and only five interceptions, and he currently has the Lions in the playoff hunt.

However, Stafford has been inconsistent throughout his career despite his gaudy numbers this season. Stafford has established himself as a franchise quarterback, but he hasn't proven on a yearly basis that he has the consistency of quarterbacks such as Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees or Ben Roethlisberger.
