Aaron Rodgers' future with the New York Jets is up in the air, as is his future in the NFL, according to a new report.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided the update Sunday morning ahead of the regular-season finale. He said that people close to Rodgers are preparing for the finale against the Dolphins to be his last in the NFL. Rapoport noted the comments made by the Super Bowl-winning quarterback as he reflected upon his career and even looked back to high school.
"I mean, this was a guy who I think really dug deep as far as in his feelings," Rapoport said. "And there are several people close to him who I know are preparing for the fact that this could, in fact, be it."

While Rapoport has reported that the end could be in sight, Rodgers has not yet provided any confirmation. He simply said last week that he is trying to stay in the moment and that he is looking forward to mental and physical rest.
The veteran quarterback said that he wanted to take time before making any decisions about his future.
Rodgers' future in the NFL and with the Jets has been a talking point throughout the season. The team has failed to meet expectations during a 4-12 season in which they fired their head coach and general manager.
There will be changes in the AFC East franchise as the Jets try to get back to winning. A new coach and GM pairing will enter the building. They may want Rodgers to lead the offense and work with the quarterback of the future. They may also want to start fresh.
"I'm just resigned to the reality of the situation," Rodgers said last week, per the Jets. "There's going to be change here. If I'm a part of the change, then I just want to make sure everybody knows I have nothing but gratitude for my time here. It's been a great experience all around.
"I'm disappointed about the performance with myself and as a team, but really thankful for the opportunity. If I feel good about coming back and they want to make another run at this, that'd be fantastic. But I'm not naive to the situation we're in."
