The deal went down on Friday afternoon. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, this is a three-year contract worth $45.75 million. This averages out to $15.25 million per year. The insider did not yet have the details about the guaranteed money.
This extension happens after the Jets placed the franchise tag on Hall, a former second-round pick out of Iowa State. This would have kept him in the building for the 2026 season while paying him a salary based on the average of the top five players at his position.
Now, Hall is top three in terms of running back salary. Saquon Barkley of the Eagles leads the way with $20.6 million annually. Christian McCaffrey is second with an annual salary of $19 million. Derrick Henry of the Ravens was third with $15 million annually, but he will now move down to fourth now that Hall has his deal.

Hall has been a member of the Jets since the 2022 season. He appeared in seven games as a rookie while rushing for 463 yards and four touchdowns, but he tore his ACL against the Broncos and missed the rest of the year.
Hall returned to full health for 2023, and he has remained an integral part of the offense ever since. He posted 1,585 yards from scrimmage in 2023, and he scored nine total touchdowns. He then tallied 1,359 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns in 2024.
Last season, Hall delivered a career-best season. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the first time in his career, and he scored four rushing touchdowns. He added 350 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Hall will now return to the Jets that boasts a new-look offense. This team will now have Geno Smith under center. It will have veteran Garrett Wilson in one receiver spot. It will have rookie Omar Cooper Jr. in another. Rookie Kenyon Sadiq will line up at tight end.
