The Baltimore Ravens Are Obsessed With This Snack

The entire Baltimore Ravens team is obsessed with one specific snack that has helped fuel their success this season.

According to a recent article from The Baltimore Banner, Sarah Snyder, the Ravens' director of sports nutrition this season, claims that the Ravens roster eats between 30-60 'Uncrustables' — the J.M. Smucker Company's iconic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches — per day; which amounts to over 7,500 'Uncrustables' consumed by the team this season.

Anyone who has ever had the good sense to eat an 'Uncrustable' before can understand this obsession, as the crust-less delights are undoubtedly one of the best snacks ever created.

Yet, what seems to amaze Snyder — who stocks a "snack wall" that's located in the hallway between the Ravens' practice facility field and its locker room daily — most is how guys never seem to get bored of these wonderful sandwiches.

"I'm surprised at how many people eat at least one PB&J a day, and they don't get tired of them," Snyder said in the article. "I know the texture is a big part of it, the texture, flavor, taste, all those things contribute to them coming back to them."

Snyder also noted how PB&J's are a perfect snack for football players (and everybody else, for that matter) because it provides protein and carbohydrates through easily digestible ingredients.

While 'Uncrustables' are the Ravens' undisputed snack wall MVP, they aren't the only oft-consumed snack that Snyder provides for Baltimore's players. She also noted that the team has eaten 6,200 sticks of beef jerky this season, over 1,800 bags of sunflower seeds, 3,600 of the various granola bars, 2,850 energy chews, 460 energy bites, and has also taken 1,200 beet juice shots.

The Ravens also love when Snyder includes potato chips in her snack assortment — but she doesn't do that very often because potato chips aren't as healthy.

In the process of keeping the AFC's best team this season satiated, Snyder is also teaching Ravens players about what a healthy snack consists of.

"When you see the display out there, a lot of guys walk by and are like, 'I didn't know those were healthy options,'" right tackle Morgan Moses said. "So not only do you get to pick and choose what you want, you're learning as you go these are healthy options you can grab at home."

There's no doubt that Snyder is doing a great job giving the Ravens healthy (and delicious) pre- and post-practice snack options. Now let's see whether these snacks can propel the Ravens to a Super Bowl appearance next month.
