Ja'Marr Chase wants to win Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, first and foremost. He also wants to "piss off" fellow receiver Justin Jefferson just a little bit.

The Cincinnati Bengals' top receiver met with media members ahead of this weekend's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. He faced questions about whether he would perform the Griddy, a celebration that has become a signature of Jefferson.
The answer is a resounding, "Yes." If Chase catches a touchdown pass from backup quarterback Jake Browning, he will not hesitate to break out the celebration.
"If he doesn't want me to, I want to do it," Chase said (laughs). "I mean, if he doesn't want me to do it, then I'm going to do it now, purposely, yeah. I wanna piss him off a little."
Chase continued and joked that he could get a fine this week with a celebration and that he may talk some trash to Jefferson after the game ends. However, the two receivers will keep it professional during the game itself.
Jefferson and Chase are very familiar with each other, and they have some mutual respect. They previously competed on the same LSU Tigers roster, and they celebrated a national championship together at the end of the 2019 season.
This roster set SEC records with its dominance. Quarterback Joe Burrow threw for more than 5,000 yards while running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for more than 1,000. Chase and Jefferson both topped 1,000 yards receiving.
The LSU Tigers became the first team in SEC history to have a quarterback, running back, and two wide receivers hit these numbers in the same season.
The national championship game against the Clemson Tigers served as a fitting example of this dominance. Burrow threw for 463 yards and five touchdowns in the biggest game of the season. He rushed for another touchdown.
Jefferson caught nine passes for 106 yards while Chase caught nine passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
Burrow and Jefferson departed for the NFL after winning the national championship. Burrow landed with the Bengals as the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft while Jefferson headed to the Vikings as the 22nd overall pick.
Chase, however, opted out of the 2020 season. He then entered the NFL Draft in 2021 after becoming eligible, and he landed with the Bengals as the fifth overall pick.
Years later, the two receivers from this LSU team will reunite on the football field. They will try to propel their respective teams to the win, and they will likely each celebrate with the Griddy if they score a touchdown.
