The NFL fanbase had some interesting reactions on Monday after hearing the report that Shedeur Sanders is officially a Pro Bowl quarterback.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz cited sources on Monday while saying the Cleveland Browns rookie has been added to the Pro Bowl as an alternate. ESPN's Adam Schefter also confirmed the news.
The news comes after Pro Bowl quarterback Drake Maye punched his ticket to Super Bowl 60. The New England Patriots quarterback will prepare for the biggest game of his career instead of the annual exhibition event.
Sanders showed flashes while under center for the Browns, but he only appeared in eight games while starting seven. This particular piece of information led to a bit of uproar from NFL fans.
Shedeur Sanders in 8 games this season:
• 3-4 record
• 7 TD, 10 INT
• 1,400 yards
• 56.6 completion %— DraftKings Sportsbook (@DKSportsbook) January 26, 2026
"The pro bowl is officially a joke, so many QBs more deserving, even Jalen hurts," one NFL fan wrote. Another took issue with the fact that Sanders made the Pro Bowl before Caleb Williams, who led the Chicago Bears to a division crown and a playoff win.
One person saw Schultz's report and questioned its authenticity. They acknowledged that they thought this was a fake X account. Another indicated that this is just a strategy by the NFL to get extra viewers for the Pro Bowl games, which moved from the Sunday before the Super Bowl to the Tuesday before.
Sanders, a fifth-round pick out of the University of Colorado, started the season as the third-string quarterback in Cleveland. Joe Flacco served as the starter for the first four games, and he went 1-3. Rookie third-round pick Dillon Gabriel then started six games while going 1-5.
Proof the pro bowl is the dumbest thing in sports.
7 TDs, 10 INTs, 18.9 QBR...The NFL is in the most pathetic state I've ever seen. Give the spot to someone who actually deserves it. https://t.co/hYeWNkAnF9

Gabriel started the Nov. 16 game against the Ravens, but Sanders finished it. The former Colorado quarterback then started the final seven games while going 3-4.
His best performance in this stretch came in a 31-29 loss to the Titans. He threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns — both career-highs. Yet, the Browns pulled him from the field during a two-point conversion attempt while trying to force overtime. The attempt failed, and the Browns lost.
