Tee Higgins Set to Make Season Debut After Suffering Injury

Tee Higgins looks to make his season debut as the Cincinnati Bengals face the Washington Commanders on 'Monday Night Football.'

Higgins Feeling Much Better After Injury

The Bengals receiver told Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic that he was feeling "100 percent" after a positive week of practice. Higgins, who sat out the first two games of the season while rehabbing his hamstring injury, says he's ready to return and "looking forward to building off a good camp."

"I feel great," Higgins said after Friday's practice. "Obviously, unfortunate with the injury, sat out the first two weeks, but finally ready to get my feet wet this season and ready to go."

Higgins suffered a hamstring injury Sept. 5, a few days before the season opener against the New England Patriots. Cincinatti has been cautious about bringing the star wideout back as he returned to practice this week. Head coach Zac Taylor says that even with limited participation, Higgins "had a great week of work" and is likely to be removed from the IR lists ahead of Sunday's matchup.

Bengals Still Looking For Win Two Weeks In

The Bengals are still vying for their first win of the new season. Tee Higgins return will create more options for the team offensively who have been struggling to open the field. It will also relieve pressure on players like quarterback Joe Burrow and pro bowl receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who's drawn plenty of double-team coverage through the first two games. Chase has been vocal about Higgins' return and how good it is just to have him back after such a devastating injury.

"It's been good just knowing [Higgins is] back," he said. "Having him with good energy and just having the boys back out there. That's all it is. Feels good again."

The Bengals look to avoid their first 0-3 start in the Joe Burrow era as they square off against the Washington Commanders in a 'Monday Night Football' doubleheader.
