Cam Ward has blunt, expletive-filled message about Titans

No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward had a blunt assessment about his team after the Tennessee Titans failed to score a point in Week 4.

He drove this point home with an expletive-filled response to questions from the assembled media members.

"If we keep it a buck right now, we ass," Ward said. "We're 0-4. At this point, we got nothing to lose. We've dropped a quarter of our f****** games, and we've yet to do anything."

The Tennessee Titans fell to the rival Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon during a game in which the offense only generated 175 total yards and kicker Joey Slye missed both of his field goal attempts.

Ward completed 10 of his 26 attempted passes for 108 yards and one interception. This throw bounced into the arms of a Texans defender. Houston's defense hit Ward seven times and sacked him twice.

The Titans defense held the Texans offense in check in the first half, only surrendering a pair of field goals to Ka'imi Fairbairn. However, this unit gave up 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Texans ran away with the win.

The Titans have not enjoyed a winning season since 2021 when then-head coach Mike Vrabel led the team to a 12-5 record and the divisional round of the playoffs. The Titans went 7-10 and 6-11 in Vrabel's final two seasons as head coach.

Brian Callahan took over as head coach last season. The team went 3-14 with a combination of Will Levis and Mason Rudolph at quarterback. The team then drafted Ward this season to help turn the franchise around, but far more problems exist.

"We have to lock in, especially myself," Ward added. "From the offensive line, from the defensive line, from the special teams — all three phases. We have to play together. We have not played together this year yet."

Now at 0-4, the Titans have failed to win in 10 straight games. Their last victory came against the Texans on Nov. 24, 2024.
