According to details provided after the signing, this is a four-year contract that keeps the pass rusher in the building for the foreseeable future. He was set to play in 2026 on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal, but this contract provides some stability.

The deal includes $50 million guaranteed once Walker puts pen to paper. It ultimately includes $77 million in total guarantees. This contract puts Walker 12th among pass rushers, per Over the Cap. He ranks just ahead of Broncos pass rusher Nik Bonitto ($106 million) and just behind Ravens pass rusher Trey Hendrickson ($112 million).

A standout defender for the University of Georgia, Walker began his NFL career with the 2022 NFL Draft. He became an immediate starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars while delivering in multiple ways. He posted one interception, one forced fumble, 49 tackles, and 3.5 sacks as a rookie.

The 2023 and 2024 seasons featured even more production from the former No. 1 overall pick. He posted at least 10 sacks both seasons along with 113 combined tackles. He forced two more fumbles and returned one for a touchdown.

Last season saw a bit of a dip in production. Walker started 14 games but only posted 3.5 sacks. He posted 38 tackles, 13 quarterback hits, and two passes defensed.

The Jaguars ranked 11th in total defense while allowing an average of 303.6 yards per game. The team ranked first in run defense while allowing an average of 85.6 yards per game. This team won the AFC South with a 13-4 record and returned to the playoffs. The Jaguars ultimately lost in the wild-card round to the Bills.

The four-year contract for Walker continues the string of deals handed out by the Jaguars. The team has focused on the defense this offseason while paying cornerback Montaric Brown and linebacker Dennis Gardeck.
