Geno Smith has only started one game for the Las Vegas Raiders, but he has already set a franchise record while leading the team to a 1-0 start.

The veteran quarterback threw for 362 yards during Sunday afternoon's 20-13 win over the New England Patriots. This shattered the franchise record for the most passing yards in a quarterback's debut.
Smith surpassed Dan Pastorini, who threw for 317 yards in his Raiders debut back in 1980. Pastorini led the Raiders to a 27-14 win over the Chiefs in his first of five starts that season.

Smith nearly broke another franchise record on Sunday. He completed nine passes for more than 20 yards against the Patriots. This tied the team record for the most passes of more than 20 yards in a single game since 1991.
"He's been doing this now. Geno had a regular game today," head coach Pete CarrolI said after the win. "I don't think it was a big statement game or anything like that.
"I just think that's what he does. And we'll do better than that. He's got it in him to do better than that."
Smith did not turn in a perfect game for the Raiders in the rain; he threw an interception that ended one drive. However, he completed more than 70% of his throws, and he found Tre Tucker for a touchdown on the opening drive of the game.
Smith also found seven different options in the passing attack while guiding this new-look offense that also features tight end Brock Bowers and rookie running back Ashton Jeanty.
"That's how we want to play football," Smith said, per the team website. "We want to make sure that we make the right reads. I want to make sure that I'm making the right decisions and getting the ball into the hands of the playmakers.
"We've got a lot of great players and that's something that we can take advantage of. I want to spread the ball around if need be but I want to find the open guy, first and foremost."
Geno Smith's tenure with the Raiders is only one game old, but he will have more opportunities to pursue other team records.
The single-season mark for passing yards is 4,804 yards, which Derek Carr set in 2021. The single-season mark for passing touchdowns is 34. Daryle Lamonica set this in 1969. The single-season mark for completion percentage is 70.4. Carr set this in 2019.
