Taylor Swift has long been known to drop subtle hints in her music, videos, interviews and social media posts, but she made a not-so-hidden reference to her new love interest during her recent concert in Argentina. Near the end of her song "Karma" — the finale in her massive, three-hour-plus Eras Tour setlist — she sang, "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs," a reference to Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce, who was in attendance on the team's bye week.

The original lyric is "Karma is the guy on the screen," a reference to her actor ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, with whom she was in the midst of a six-year relationship when the song was written. The lyric change officially signaled her shift to a romance with Kelce, who is of course the "guy on the Chiefs" in question. And it both surprised and delighted the Buenos Aires crowd. But did it surprise Kelce?

He looked pretty shocked in the crowd. However, in the most recent edition of the "New Heights" podcast with his brother Jason, Travis hinted that he had some idea that the lyric reference might come but that it was still surreal to actually hear. One of the other lyrics in the song is, "Karma is my boyfriend" — so, by transitive property, we can surmise that this is the always-clever Taylor's way of announcing that the couple are officially in a committed relationship.
It was a big weekend for the new couple. They've now both officially been spectators at each other's performances, although Kelce did attend the Eras Tour in Kansas City before the pair got together. He also had the opportunity to meet Taylor's father, Scott, for the first time — and reportedly tried to sway the longtime Eagles fans to come over to the fan base of the defending champions.
