After trading out of the top spot, the Tennessee Titans are reportedly eyeing a move from No. 15 overall back into the top 10, per CBS Sports. With the notion that the Los Angeles Rams are taking Jared Goff remaining, the Cleveland Browns are reportedly intent on trading out of their current No. 2 slot.
A possible swap between the two teams could present itself, according to the report.
While some combination of the Titans' No. 15 selection, along with another pick could work, could Tennessee finally rid itself of reserve quarterback Zach Mettenberger in lieu of a draft selection?
Tennessee was thought to hold onto the quarterback after drafting Marcus Mariota. But after the No. 2 overall selection showed he could be the future of the franchise, the time could be now to send Mettenberger away in a trade. And the time couldn't be better for the Browns, who have Robert Griffin III on the roster as the lone legit option at quarterback.
Mettenberger will have one year remaining on his contract after this season, and the Browns or whichever team he lands, would likely want to get a good long look at what the former LSU prospect can produce in a starting role.
Obviously pick(s) would have to be included, but would Cleveland be interested in landing one of the better young prospects? We'll keep an eye on this situation moving forward.
