The Chicago Bears are expanding their search for a new head coach, and Iowa State's Matt Campbell is the latest name to enter the conversation. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears plan to interview Campbell, who has built a strong resume in college football over the last decade.

Campbell, 45, is the winningest coach in Iowa State history, with a 64-51 record in nine seasons. His success at the helm of the Cyclones, a program historically known for mediocrity, has earned him widespread attention from NFL teams looking for a fresh perspective.
Prior to his time at Iowa State, Campbell spent five seasons at Toledo, where he posted an impressive 35-15 record. His ability to turn around programs has made him a coveted candidate, and the Bears are clearly interested in seeing if that success can translate to the NFL.
The Bears have already begun their interview process, having met with former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel on Wednesday. Chicago has also requested interviews with several other candidates, including Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, Lions coordinators Ben Johnson (offense) and Aaron Glenn (defense), and Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.
They've also requested talks with Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, former Stanford head coach David Shaw, Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, and Dolphins head coach Anthony Weaver.
Interestingly, the Cowboys denied the Bears' request to speak with Mike McCarthy, as McCarthy remains under contract with Dallas until January 14. This indicates the Bears are casting a wide net in their search, looking for someone who can lead them back to relevance after firing Matt Eberflus following a Thanksgiving loss to Detroit.
