Antonio Brown's Facebook faux pas has sparked a bit of a rift between Ben Roethlisberger and New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.
Brown decided to broadcast Pittsburgh Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin's postgame speech to players after the team's victory over the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday on Facebook Live. And Tomlin's sermon included some unflattering references to the Patriots, who Pittsburgh will face in the AFC Championship Sunday.
"Let's start our preparations," Tomlin was heard saying on the video. "We just spotted these a—h—— a day and a half. They played yesterday. Our game got moved to tonight. We're going to touch down at 4 o'clock in the %&*%* morning. So be it. We'll be ready for their a—."
Brown sharing Tomlin's private, as far as he knew at the time, address touched off a media firestorm, with many critics arguing that he'd crossed the line. Tomlin and Roethlisberger were among them, and both came down pretty hard on Brown earlier in the week for the misguided act.
Edelman, unsurprisingly, was also one of them.
"That's how that team is run," Edelman told WEEI Monday. "I personally don't think that would be something that would happen in our locker room, but hey, whatever. Some people like red and some people like blue. Some people like tulips and some people like roses. Whatever."
Although it wasn't as sharp of a barb as it maybe could have been, it was still enough to draw a somewhat pointed response from Big Ben, who called the Steelers owners " the best in the business."
If you're a Steelers fan, you can only hope this doesn't manifest itself in extra motivation for the Pats. And if you're a Pats fan, you know that it will probably will.
