Bill Belichick is on Instagram.

This is a sentence I never imagined writing after hearing him previously discuss the social media platform years ago. In 2017, Belichick was commenting on a situation that took place with the Pittsburgh Steelers and a Facebook Live Feed, to which he had no idea what it was but provided a legendary quote.
"As you know, I'm not on SnapFace and all that, so I don't really get those," he said while appearing on WEEI's Dale & Holley Show per ESPN. "I'm really just worried about getting our team ready to go."
Well, now that Belichick has no team to worry about after failing to land a job in the offseason, it seems he's tapping into things he never had time for. Social media appears to be one of those things as the longtime New England Patriots head coach announced that he is now on Instagram with his first post and an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
"I can't believe I'm doing this but I've joined InstaFace," he said on the show. His first post on the new account was a graphic with a brief message, "During my career in the NFL, I had built-in opportunities to express myself at a moment's notice. The circumstances are different now. So, here I am."
As of Wednesday evening, he has three posts to his name as well as a story post. It seems he's making quick work of the platform.
He has over 209,,000 followers as of 10:00 p.m. ET on his first day, but he's proving not to be liberal when handing out follows. He only is following 12 accounts, none of which would shock you.
The NFL and NFL Films are on the list, as well as Tom Brady (duh), his foundation's official page, and his girlfriend, Jordan Hudson (who we can only assume played a hand in getting him on Instagram). The other seven feature Eli and Peyton Manning, the Pat McAfee Show, Omaha Productions, The 33rd Team, and 'Coach Podcast,' as well as Berj Najarian, who spent 24 years with the Patriots and last served as the Director of Football.

It'll be fun to watch the legendary football coach continue to share more and more about his life away from football. He always presented himself in a closed-off way during his coaching tenure, so having a chance finally to let loose will be a welcomed change.
What is interesting, though, is that he doesn't follow the New England Patriots. Hmm??
